In what capacity was he affiliated with the Browns? No one with that name ever played in the major leagues.

Im not sure. I was told all my life he played for the Phillies, but they have never heard of him...Iowa is putting him in the "Hall of fame" I saw a news clipping of Uncle Joe and Mickey Mantle. I am so lost where can I look?

Well, he apparently played for the Edmonton Eskimos in something called the Global World Series in 1957.

If he was a big star he would maybe be in Wikipedia, or maybe do a player search on SI. I don't know how far they date.
