It's a shame an announcer as talented as Ken Korach has to work with Vince Cotroneo... I have been listening to MLB games for over 30 years and have never heard an announcer as pitiful as Vince. He is late with the calls, brings no insight or stories when the time warrants and probably the worst thing of all is that he has no sense of humor !!!! Korach deserves a better partner or let Ken do it alone with fill ins from Ray Fosse... I'm hoping Vince heads back to Texas after this year....he's horrible.... I know Ray King is rolling over in his grave having to listen to this buffoon....

I understand why the Rangers fired Cotroneo. Yikes!!! Hopefully the A's will cut their losses and send him and his terrible head carpet back to wherever he came from. I understand that he was an insurance salesman before the A's hired him, so he does have something to fall back on. Go A's in '07, but please give us a good announcer!

I was just a tyke at the time, but I remember an A's announcer who worked with Monty Moore whose name was Al Helfer. Does anyone remember him better than I do? At the time, I was around eigth or nine years old, but I do recall thinking he was very boring.

Of all the skilled announcers, why did the A's choose the annoying Cotroneo? It is a bizarre hiring; though his firing at season's end will be quite expected.
