Why the lack of posting in this forum? I could understand in the Pittsburg forum, but for a team thats always in contention i would expect a little more.
I want people to talk about this team! Come one come all!

Can't speak for all the 'stros fans around here, but Houstonians just don't seem to get amped up for things. I had the fortune of attending one of the WS games in Houston last year. While during regular season, fans were enough into it, my impression was that the few thousand baseball fans that will make it out to the ball park every day, couldn't afford the WS ticket. Full of people that just mezmerized by the hype. I sensed that half the people there didn't know the first thing about baseball, just wanted to be a part of something big. The crowd was very lame that night at least (don't recall what game it was (Roy pitched and the game went to the wee hours of the mourning).

Then why are you in this forum???
But now to respond to the original thread: I have been frustrated with Houston fans my whole life. I would hate to play professionally in this city. It is such a transient city that it is hard to find fellow diehards. It isn't just baseball either. We have fairweather Texans and Rockets fans too.

...my impression was that the few thousand baseball fans that will make it out to the ball park every day, couldn't afford the WS ticket. You are probably right about that. Houston has one of the lowest cost of living scales among the top 50 cities in population. Along with that comes much lower salaries for the same job one gets in places like NYC, Boston, LA, etc. Yet, the face value for WS tickets last year in Houston was the same as it was in NYC and the other locales. The vast majority of the tickets wound up in corporate hands, and they got doled out to a bunch of customers who don't normally go to a lot of regular season games.
