I am very sorry to see this project come to a halt. :( I actually enjoyed it more than the BBFHOF. I guess the Hydra did wreak some nasty havoc after all. Thank you, Jason, for an interesting and enjoyable experience.:clapping :waving

It certainly was valuable in its discussion of the early players, and it is now a part of the Resource thread. It's a shame it ended this way, though. As for BBF HOF, I'm open to new ideas to get the discussion going some more. We really could use some more vigorous discussion in the discussion thread for that project.

Wish I had been able to participate in this more. Lots of things learned from it. Thank you, Jason! :clapping

You mentioned this a while back in the HOF discussion thread also, Jim. I really don't have any good ideas. I did a couple of posts in support of Harry Stovey, but there really aren't any players on my ballot who I feel strongly enough about to put up a post in support of. Maybe that's the problem - we're down to that level of player that doesn't generate the active support of those voting.
There are exceptions, the most notable being Chris's ongoing support of posts on behalf of Jimmy Wynn and, more recently, Sal Bando. I'm not convinced in either case, but at least he has me looking more closely. There doesn't really seem to be that type of support for the others, though.

I realize the problem, but I'm still trying to combat it as best I can.
On another note, does anybody have anything which would help me identify the number of the old discussion thread? If you saved a post on a disk or hard drive, it might still have the thread number on it in the URL that would have been saved with it. It might not be enough for me to access it, even as a moderator, but I'd like to try. Those posts are still somewhere in the computer, or they wouldn't be being counted. But I've followed all the leads I can think of to find it and restore it, without success. However, I've never had the actual thread ID number. If anyone can help me out here, I'd appreciate it.
