What do you think of him he has seen 38-40 pitches in 6 AB in 2 games. He is awesome. Also Tulowitzki hit a ball that KNOCKED JOSE REYES DOWN! Lol that must've been hit hard

38 pitches!!! That shows not only his tenacity, but also his plate discipline, I'll keep an eye on him.

Yeah that is 1 key thing I saw he had it liek 1-2 fouled off 3 and got 1 ball then hit an RBI single. HE'S GOOD

that's incredible. i love hitters that see tons of pitches per PA (kevin youkilis, bobby abreu, even giambi). obviously he won't see 7-8 per pa his whole career, but that's pretty awesome regardless.
i've heard nothing but good things about this kid, hope he pans out.

He really has a chance to be with the team a long time because he plays catcher. Rockiesfan what kind of arm does he have?

"We know we're challenged the rest of the season, but we're naïve enough to not think we're out of it either," manager Clint Hurdle said before Saturday's game. "That's why we're making the move now."
"He's very possibly the best all-around package for catching that we've ever
had in the organization," Hurdle said. "He's book smart as well as clubhouse smart. He's played well everywhere he's gone. Staffs have pitched well wherever he's caught. He swings the bat very efficiently. He works the ball from line to line. And his throwing is average, if not above average."

With Torrealba , Ardoin, and now Iannetta, what does this mean for JD Closser's chances of sticking in the bigs with the Rockies? I've always liked Closser, but Hurdle doesn't seem to, for some reason. :noidea

Iannetta has basically sucked at the MLB level since coming up. He is 2-16 with one walk for a .125/.176/.125 line. That gives him a .301 OPS. Of course, 17 PA's doesn't mean squat.
His minor league line at AA Tulsa was .321/.418/.622 for a 1.040 OPS. That is outstanding, but it was AA and only 180 PA's.

Iannetta hit his first major league home run last night as the Rockies lost 10-6. He went 2 for 3 with a HR and 2 runs scored.
