EXPANSION Issue Thread

These are some issues that need resolving:

1) DO WE EXPAND IN THE OFFSEASON?

so thats what you mean by expanding, I dont see how. YL allready deleted the other teams and there players. and I DONT want to switch over to another file or another program, cause then Pena would suck :D cause he sure doesnt hit .318 with 37 bombs in real life

Mogul features an add-on that could add teams to a league and not change PENA's stats.

I wouldn't mind expansion all that much, really. As long as whoever takes the O's agrees to trade me Bedard. And Loewen. And Penn. And Markakis. And Reimold.

I did mention he was a very young lefty who has huge upside, and he does.

He had been good with me, not with KC from whom I got him for. :crazy

I can't trade Majewski, I still have him now!

He's 2-7, but has a low ERA and lots of holds.

if I can keep pena the way he is, and switch to mogul 08 so we can add teams, i'll do it.

In OOTP, you can import a league from a prior version. I'd imagine Mogul would do that if they wanted to have any success.

Yes, but here in the BBFTG my infield consists of Adam LaRoche at 1B, Dustin Pedroia at 2B, Ian Kinsler at SS, and Eric Duncan at 3B. Infielders are not a top priority.

I wouldn't mind expanding. However, we would need to do one thing. Make the new GM's sign a contract saying that they won't walk out on us no matter what happens. Otherwise we kick them off BBF. For life.

Whie this may be a little harsh, I think you all get the picture. No one wants people to come in here, make us expand our league, and then ditch a month into the season.

I'm against expansion because we currently don't have 20 active GM's. If we had a higher number of active GM's I'd say yes. Also, an expansion would mean reallignment of divisions and stuff. Just a big hassle imo!

yea Gashouse is active, I have talked to him on IM almost every morn before school this week and last, he didnt drop out.

my school didnt start yet, but I will try to be active. If you dont see me posting anymore, I mean none, with out a reason why, then I must of droped dead :D


Some teams have droped out because they are suckin, like I havent heard form KC or DET, PHI. I also havent heard from NYM. I am shocked TKOK is still in even though they suck this year.

I would like to add more teams, I bet more people would like to join this.

When I 1st joined this this year, I thought that maybe I would quit early, it was the 1st time I ever did anything like this, but now I really like it and I can't Imagine leaving. I let the Astros grow on me, Im so happy I picked them over the Angles, the 1st team I picked but then switched.

you got a point there, the way we are linedup has grown on me to. I really like being in the same Division as STL and SF. KC and DET, its pretty neat too. Actually when I look at all the groups, they all look good now.

Has starting over come up in any discussions? I know Wilk is getting the 08 version of Mogul, and there are so many people who want to switch teams and etuff. It also seems kinda weird with certain players gone from the history books FOREVER. I myself would be neutral on starting over. And if we get new GMs and they hear say the Pirates are open and they love the pirates and go in there and find out 90% of the Pirates arent really Pirates, might make them rithink. Just an opinion though, so you guys can do whatever, I will sit back and only comment whenh I feel necessary. BTW, are we gonna be playing everyday soon? Has there been any games this past week? Its seemed kind of dead here.

I agree with Cubsfan. Maybe a "refresh" is in order. Get some people who will really commit to the league, and get things going again. If not, I'm happy with my current situation. I was just thinking that it wouldn't be a huge loss to start over, since things haven't moved in a while.

You know what though, then this whole season would be pointless if it was lost, I mean, I made so many changes to the Nats, then again, that idea seems intriguing to me, but, most members wouldn't want it, I'm not saying we will or won't SO DON'T put words in my mouth.

well I did sim 3 games in 1 day last week. I plan to sim another game, but I dont want to put to much on EB and AZN. I plan to wait for EB to get the standings set up, and I am going to help AZN with the injury list.

Yes I guess it would throw this season down the drain, but people would be more willing to swtich, join if we start over. Like I would NORMALLY give Henderson the Yankees since he wants them, BUT, the rosters are noithing like they are in real life and I woudl;nt know half the players or anything. And it wouldnt be a complete waste, we DID have a lot of fun this summer, until YL quit that is.

I agree with the above post. I see both sides, but I think it would be refreshing to start again.
