According to this (http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/sports/2003114508_pilotsbios09.html) bio which appeared in a thread titled "Seattle M's Dress Up As Pilots Sun-July 9, 61 year old Steve Hovley had worked as a plumber and is currently living in Oak View, CA.

glad to see him still alive and well...what a lucky guy, to be able to come up to the show, at least for a little while..What person doesn't dream of doing that ? Wonder if he still keeps in touch with Bouton, etc ?

I actually talked to his wife about 5 years ago when I was researching a Ball Four project during college. She was pleasant, but said Steve had no interest in talking about his baseball career. At the time, he wouldn't do interviews or give out autographs or anything like that. About a month or two later, I got a nice letter from her, along with one of Steve's old baseball cards from when he was with the A's. However, I heard he was a part of SABR-sponsored Pilots conference earlier this year. Would've loved to have seen that.

because I picked up 4 original 35mm slides of him just last week.. very nice stuff.
