My selections for the 1963 CKL All-Star team. Some positions may seem strange, but I set a filter of a minimum 40 games played at a position before a player would qualify for my vote at that position. With that caveat, here are my picks:
C: Elston Howard, Ed Bailey
1B: Orlando Cepeda, Bill White
2B: Pete Rose, Tommy Davis
3B: Max Alvis, Ed Mathews
SS: Maury Wills, Dick Groat
LF: Carl Yastrzemski, Willie McCovey
CF: Willie Mays, Jimmie Hall
RF: Frank Howard, Billy Williams, Hank Aaron, Leon Wagner
SP: Sandy Koufax, Gary Peters, Dick Ellsworth, Camilo Pascual, Bob Friend, Curt Simmons, Jim Bouton, Juan Pizarro
RP: Stan Williams, Al Worthington, Ron Kline, Art Fowler

--A little over 24 hours to get your votes for our 1963 All Stars in. The leaders to this point;
C: Elston Howard
1B: Orlando Cepeda (unanimous)
2B: Pete Rose (unanimous)
3B: Max Alvis (unanimous)
SS: Maury Wills (unanimous)
LF: Carl Yastrzemski (unanimous)
CF: Willie Mays (unanimous)
RF: Frank Howard
--RF is the only closely contested spot for the starting lineup (Aaron), but the backups at 1B, 2B and CF are close and there are a bunch of guys binched together for the 2 wild card slots.
SP: Gary Peters holds a slim lead over Sandy Koufax. 7 of the 8 are close to locked in, with 4 pitchers contending for the last slot.
RP: Art Fowler is the only man to appear on all ballots and has been the top choice on all but one.

Actually I didn't list my players (especially pitchers) in any particular order. If I did, Fowler or Kline would probably be at the top.

==Check the first post. At the positions, its 5 point for first team and 3 for 2nd with 1 for the two spots (or in Lew's case 2 extra RFers) added for the wild card selections. SP its 8, 7, 6, etc. RP its 4, 3, 2, 1.

OOPS, I did my ballot without reading it, because I didn't want to be influenced by anyone else's vote. It's probably too late, but if not, I would place my relief pitchers in this order:
Fowler
Kline (hometown favorite)
William
Worthington
Everyone else would stay the same.

A little surprised that Kline didn't make it, and also that I only have one player, but it sure is a good team.

--Kline got off to a good start in the voting (he was 2nd on my ballot and made the next 2), but then his support fell off. There were actually 8-9 relievers who merited consideration so I'm surprised the vote wasn't more splintered.
--We had 6 rookies make this year's squad (Rose, Javier, Alvis, Hall, Peters and LeMaster). That makes for a pretty good list of nominees when we get the the RoY voting.
--We also have 8 players who have made all three teams (E. Howard, Gentile, Mathews, Mays, Aaron, Pascual, Koufax and Friend). 5 of those 8 are Knights, although Bob Friend has only been one for a couple weeks.
I actually don't think Gentile should have made it this time... but when your team is as good as the Knights, that's a perk.
So much for Pete Ward getting any RoY votes... he's tailed off a bit after a strong start. It's going to be tough but my vote so far would go to Gary Peters over Max Alvis. Peters has been phenomenal so far.

--Gentile is definately a grey area All Star this year. He is a fan favorite though:D . He did only make it as a wild card, finishing 3 amoung 1st basemen with 3 of 7 second place votes.

Based on his record next year, he might still have an outside chance, but it sure won't be shoo-in.

Actually, Mark, Lemaster didn't make the all-star team. He got some support, but the only Legend player to make the team was McCovey. You may have been thinking of the Skipjack's Bouton, who I believe is a CKL rookie this year and did make the team. He was a real life rookie in 1962, but he wasn't on anyone's roster in our league last year, was he?
I have Bouton down for some playing time in '62.
