I was doing some reseach on Dom DiMaggio and it said that he and his brother, Joe, had hit HRs in the same game. I'm trying to find out if there had been others brother who did the same thing. (In the past you have helped me find the answer..so once again I ask you...)

Felipe and Matty Alou both homered on 5/15/1961. Matty and Jesus Alou both homered on 8/12/1965.

The first pair of home-run hitting brothers that I thought of were the Conigliaros. And on the fourth of July, 1970, both Tony and Billy hit a home run vs. the Senators.

On June 12, 1962, Henry and Tommie Aaron hit home runs vs. the Dodgers.

Here's a lucky one: On June 11, 1972, in a game featuring the Indians vs. the Twins, Graig and Jim Nettles each hit home runs.

Jim only hit 16 in his career.

Brothers join elite home run club

Associated Press

ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Oakland's Jason Giambi and Jeremy Giambi on Monday became the 10th set of brothers in major league history to homer in the same game.

Jason hit a two-run homer, his major league-leading 14th, in the second inning against the Angels, and Jeremy hit a three-run shot in the fourth, his second of the season.

Both homers came off Ramon Ortiz. Jason's sailed 430 feet into the right-field seats, and Jeremy's liner cleared the fence in right-center and was estimated at 405 feet.
Vladimir Guerrero and Wilton Guerrero were the previous brothers to homer in the same game, doing it last Oct. 2 for Montreal.

There was no definitive word from baseball on how many pairs of brothers had accomplished the feat.

Among the other duos to do it were Hank and Tommie Aaron, Paul and Lloyd Waner, Billy and Tony Conigliaro, Graig and Jim Nettles, Cal Ripken and Billy Ripken, Rick and Wes Farrell, Al and Tony Cuccinello, Matty and Jesus Alou, and Aaron Boone and Bret Boone.

Brother act of the week
Until Thursday's Padres-Giants game at Pac Bell Park, there had been exactly seven home runs in history hit by players named Crespo. Then, thanks to the Giants' Felipe Crespo (who had hit all of the previous seven) and his little brother, Cesar (just called up by the Padres), they combined for three in one game.

With their mother and brother in the stands, they became just the seventh set of brothers to homer for opposing teams in the same game -- joining Bret and Aaron Boone (twice), Jose and Hector Cruz (1981), Jim and Graig Nettles (twice), Joe and Dom DiMaggio (1950), Al and Tony Cuccinello (1935) and Rick and Wes Ferrell (1933).

Cesar hit the first homer of his career. And Felipe had the first two-homer game of his career. All of which practically overshadowed the oh-by-the-way fact that some guy named Barry Bonds also hit the longest home run in Pac Bell history (451 feet) in this game.

July 5, 1935, Tony Cuccinello of the Dodgers and his brother Al, for the Giants, each hit home runs in the same game to mark the first (?) time in major league history that brothers on opposing teams connected for homers. Brooklyn beat New York 14-4.

If they don't have to be for the same team, Rick & Wes Ferrell, 7/19/1933

It wasn't mentioned in that Giambi article, but there is at least one more pair to join the club.

Wilton and Vladimir Guerrero did it on 8-15-98 playing for Montreal. They also did it on 10-2-99 with the Expos. Wilton only hit 11 HR in his career but 2 of them were in the same game that his brother went deep.

I wonder if they are the only brother duo to accomplish the feat more than once?

Now that I continue searching, I see that the Guerrero's also did it on 5-18-2000. And again on 9-18-2000. This is simply shocking to me that 4 of Wilton's 11 career HR were hit in games that his brother also homered.

Edit: Now that I read that article again I see that the Guerreros were mentioned. I just can't read. I still thought I'd mention how unlikely it is for them to have done it so many times considering Wilton's complete dearth of power.

Does anyone have, or where one is, a current updated chronological list on brothers homering in the same game? Thanks

These site looks like the list could go up to 2004.
