Ok, I've got to ask - Why was the Maytag Repairman sitting in the club box behind home plate during todays's game? Is he there everygame like a mascot?

I was at that game, he threw out one of the first pitches.
He threw the actual first pitch (threw it to one of the infielders and missed but still a great effort) and Jason Mewes came out to throw the second "first pitch" (he did much better and I beleive threw it to our catcher.
The only "mascot" we have is that bobcat that wanders around on his golf cart and hurls shirts at the crowd during commercial breaks.
If you ever get a chance look something up on our "flag lady" she brings flags with her to every game (I don't think she has missed a home game since at least the '01 season) and waves them around during whatever times - i.e. US flag during the national anthem and during "God Bless America" and a Diamondbacks flag at various times during the game.
