It was three years ago, that we had our last taste of playoff fever. The last time we tought we had a shot at playing in october.

The team went on a 6 day road trip to California, and after a win in San Diego on the 24th, they found themselves 4 games back of the Phillies for the wild card, just before a 4 game home series against Philadelphia. When it was all said and done, the Expos were a top the wild card standings.

A sweep. 12-1, 14-11, 9-6 and 4-0. in front of a 30 000 and two 20 000 fans crowds at Olympic stadium. The Expos were front page news again. You could feel the excitement. Everybody was into it. And the club had 9 straight games to play against Miami and Philly, who were the other two teams in the race for the 4th playoff spot.

Unfortunately, thanks in part to lousy coaching by... whats his name? Robertson? anyway, the team got swept by the Marlins (4 games) and Philadelphia (2 games), falling out of contention. They chocked, basically. And eventually, they watched on as the Marlins went on to win the World Series.

It lasted less than a week. But it was a good week.

It was a good week. We fans hadn't been that excited in a while. I was at the 4th game and the Big Owe was electric. But alas, as quickly as it came, it disappeared with the disastrous road trip.

Was that when the Expos actually became BUYERS instead of sellers and picked up Cliff Floyd? I seem to remember being excited about that.

That really was the last good time we had as Expos fans. Man, was it fun, there was just so much electricity in the air. I remember when Turk Wendell plunked a couple of Expo batters and got tossed. I remember how wild things sounded at the stadium. I also remember Mitch Melnyk saying he was keeping track on his score card of how many visits Joe Kerrigan was making to the mound. And Xpofan can correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't some fans in the bleachers have the K count goung with 'VazKKKKez' on the mound that game?

Haven't felt that kind of excitement for MLB baseball since then:( I try, but its tough to feel like I did during that series against Phily.

They did and they would march down the steps with each strikeout to cheers from the crowd. It gave us a taste of what had been and what could have been.

THAT WAS THE YEAR guys!
We had it going, Marlins :grouchy: going on huge losing streak, us sweeping Phillies twice.

We had it going :ughh but we're Expos, that's what happens, we screw up, like Stevie Rogers did against Rick Monday.
