What is the number, and what player achieved this?

If you mean most consecutive by a player in a single WS then Billy Hatcher in 1990. Thurman Munson also has 7 consecutive hits in WS play but it covers three games and two WS's.

Yep, that's the man...Mr. Hatcher. However, I was quite certain he had 9 hits in that WS (and yes, I'm referring to a single WS). Did my wires get crossed?

In the 1st game of the 1990 WS Hatcher went 3 for 3 with a walk. In the 2nd game he went 4 for 4 with a walk. He grounded into a DP in the 1st inning of the 3rd game. So he had 7 straight hits while reaching base 9 straight times.

Ah, thanks for clarifying! I knew that 9 had something to do with this question. So, thinking back over this, did Billy Hatcher actually set the record for consecutive times reaching base safely in the WS at 9? That might be my error...reaching base vs. actual hits.

To add to the "9's" for Hatcher, he rounded the bases in approximately 9 seconds after hitting his homerun in the 1988 World Series.
