Think about it , if we don't make the Post-Season it's the fault of his crappy pitching .

I didn't know you were a Twins fan, and ok Silva's having a bad season, but 9-11 isn't THAT bad.

He's more reliable than most pitchers.

Oh, and if you miss the playoffs, it's because of some kid named Francicso Liriano.

Liriano is "soft throwing" without any difficulty......plus, Garza's looking better. We can afford a few bad outings from Silva.

IMO Silva has been by far the biggest disappointment this season. Even worse than wasting a couple months with Castro when Bartlett was in the wings.

If the Twins miss the playoffs it is because of that terrible start at the beginning of the year. No one player can be blamed.

agreed. I remember Silva being amazing last year, something like throwing close to 75 pitches in nine innings twice. now, this year, he has allowed 33 HRs and has an ERA close to 6.50. i wonder what happened to his sinker?

One theory I heard was when his knee was hurt pretty much all of last year, it forced him to pay strict attention to his mechanics and gave him great command. Since he was healthy this year he didn't worry as much about his mechanics and his control was more sloppy.

Not sure how much stock to put in that but it certainly sounds plausible.

The Twins don't need a scapegoat if they miss the play offs. They have had a phenomenal year and all can hold their heads high whatever happens.
