Ken Holcombe

Ken Holcombe posted an 18-32 record as a right handed major league pitcher (1945, 1948, 1950-53) over the course of six seasons, finishing with a career ERA of 3.98 in the 99 total games he worked.

Holcombe broke in with the Yankees in 1945 and then made a 2-game appearance in 1948 with the Reds. Ken finally found steady work for the White Sox (1950-52) before being dealt to the Browns after the start of the 1952 season. In 12 games for the '52 Browns, Ken Holcombe was 0-2 with a 3.80 ERA. Holcombe wrapped up his big league time by going 2-1 in 3 games for the 1953 Red Sox.

Long live the Browns! For as long as we remember the men who played the game, the memory of the St. Louis Browns will survive.
