I am suprised to hear no posts about stephan drew from the arizona fans. I guess creg counsel is a fan favourite out there.
Any way im impressed with his stats but i live in toronto i dont see this kid each day. How good does he look out there.
I hear he has been playing some good d as well as hitting up a storm..
Let me know your thoughts on him

Drew is definitely their shortstop of their future, though. Hopefully he can excel in Arizona for years to come.

Yeah he is on my BBFFL team when I got the WSox, Texas, and the Dbacks
I predict that Stephen Drew will become the best SS in Baseball. His defense is outstanding. The D-Backs are building a team to support the pitching with Drew and Orlando Hudson holding down the middle infield.

I have high hopes for Drew too, as I think he has a good chance for NL ROY. I've invested in some of his cards too.
Craig Counsell was already gone though

Boy, how bad I would like Drew on my whitesox... that would be sweet. I'm wondering if they could have gotten him for one of their pitchers they traded, but I think the diamondbacks view him as untouchable

That's a pretty bold statement...

Somehow I think he should be on every team's wish list.
First post! :waving

If you've seen him play, you might say the same.

Not necessary to talk to other posters like that, moe.

Sorry, he's right. He'll be better than Derek Jeter, Carlos Guillen, Michael Young, Jose Reyes, Jimmy Rollins, Edgar Renteria, Hanley Ramirez, and Rafael Furcal.

And he very well might be. There's no crime in making predictions. And HDH has been following baseball a lot longer than you have.

You'd think a few of the retired people in Ariz. would be baseball fans.
This site is like the Rockies site.

Drew's going to be an all out stud, he's awesome with the glove and great at the dish.

I would definatley not disagree with HDH's statement. He could quite possibley become the best SS in the Majors. He has a lot of competition but we've seen a lot in a short amount of time from him.
What I'd like to know, is where people rank him right now amongst the great young team the D-Backs have. Chad Tracy, Chris Young, Chris Snyder, and Conor Jackson make up a great young core with Drew, much like Milwaukee if I might add. Maybe we could call them the killer C's? Nyuck nyuck. :D

I agree with HDH I think Drew does have the potential to be the best SS in baseball...his defense is average at worst, he has plenty of power, and he develops any patience he'll definately be in the running. If Hanley develops his pop and some patience it'll be close but other than that I don't think so.

Jeter will be past his prime in five years (I hate to admit it), Rollins will also be somewhat over the hill, Edgar Renteria is overrated, Cuillen won't be in the conversation in five years, Furcal's glove is the best part of his game his bat isn't as good as what Drew's can be. Reyes is the most overrated player in baseball his defense is substandard, he has zero patience, and the only thing that will go up in his game is his power. Hanley will be Drew's only competition down the line the way I see it.
