Red Sox | Varitek could be back soon
Mon, 21 Aug 2006 09:36:25 -0700
Ian Browne, of Boston.RedSox.MLB.com, reports Boston Red Sox C Jason Varitek (knee) will not join the team in Anaheim, but will instead join them in Seattle Friday, Aug. 25, when the Red Sox begin a series against the Seattle Mariners. The team is aiming for Varitek to return Friday, Sept. 1, give or take a few days.
------------------------------------
Take it for what it's worth but if Tek can get hot quick and spark something then we can have a hot team when we face the Yankees. Because at the start of September the Sox have 3 games vs. Toronto, 3 games vs. the White Sox, a day off, 3 games vs. KC (All 3 series in Boston), a day off, 3 games in Baltimore and then 4 games in New York. I mean the Yankees face the Mariners, Angels, Detroit and Minnesota..then their schedule gets easy. So if the Red Sox can get back on the winning track then we should be decent to get a game or 2 back in the AL East.
