WE ARE NOW IN THE MINOR LEAGUE DRAFT.

RULES:

You may select any active player, or prospect once we get there. Keep in mind, however, that you are drafting for the future, and not for their whole career. Also, we will run a league sim with this, so it would be a good idea to keep salaries in mind, as you will have a salary cap when we run the league. We'll and draft a whole 40-man roster, complete with prospects, so get ready, this may take a while. Draftors have an three-hour clock, but no clock may expire between 2 AM and 7 AM.

Wasp had an idea: How about instead of imposing a salary cap in the draft, we wait until the second or third season, so we can draft the best players available, then dump them when we need to. OR we can try the CKL's idea where people earn money based on where they were drafted.

Also, to those who are extremly interested in this draft, you should check out my thread "Diamond Mind League with open team" (http://www.baseball-fever.com/showthread.php?t=48129). It is my brother's league that has been running for about 7 years now, very active... if you like this, you'd love this league... the team that is open is the Sacrilvania Llamas (the team name and location can be changed if you take it over) they are in the DH league (Aaron)

The trading deadline in the league just passed, there are about 40 or 50 games left in the season, then the post season... Free Agency will begin around January or February, with the rookie draft being sometime around then aswell

In Diamond Mind you can do this, however their defense will take a big hit, depending on which position they are converting from and to

Example: A LF and RF can switch and play about the same defense, a shortstop can not switch to a catcher, or they will have a past ball every game or so

In Diamond Mind, players are assigned pitching ratings.... 1 for Starting and 1 for Relief...

I reliever can start, but he would only last maybe 1 or 2 innings depending on his relief rating....

They range from Excellent (Ex), Very Good (Vg), Average (Av), Fair (Fr) and Poor (Pr)

The break down is usually to the extent of: Ex: 120-139; Vg: 100-119; Av: 90-99, Fr: 80-89; Pr: 70-79 pitches before they start to show massive fatigue and walk many players

Reliever's ratings usually are about the low cut in half... so a closer will most likely have an Av rating, which would result in only being able to throw around 40 pitches or so before they started getting extremly wild

Draft the best players you can. The salary cap will be instated after the first season, or maybe at the ASB of the first season. Go ahead and pass people up because of their likely price tags, but you can draft anyone you want, as long as you don't mind them being one-season rentals.

I was worried because the guy I'm waiting on, who I thought was such a reach nobody would think of him, might be picked before it gets around to me. Personally, I think that's a great pick, but for me it signifies that my guy may not last to my pick.
