The fight with the angels was a bit of entertainment but what will be the cost of it? We have a great deal of catch up to do and some players may be suspended. I just hope no key players are involved. we have some tough games coming up. we are also getting into some games that will be must win's.
As for the fight I had a feeling it was coming. SIDE ARM PITCHER, SIDE ARM PUNCHER....MAKES SINCE.

What do you think.

I enjoyed how Feldman immediately knew Kennedy would charge and threw off his glove. He had a weak punch but he did get him once :) they had it coming. You dont TRY to hit kinsler, hit young, and then guzman BACK TO BACK TO BACK.

i hope laird is not suspended nor Derosa. they are HOT right now. good game though.

"Had it coming??" Are you nuts? :crazy This goes back to Eaton hitting Rivera back on 8/6, then Padilla going mental the other day against Vlad. Showalter and his bushleaguers are TOTALLY to blame for this. Scoscia is known to NOT retaliate, so Showalter and his boys kept pushing and pushing. But enough was enough for Gregg and Donnelly and ultimately Kennedy. It was about time they gave it back to them. :grouchy :mad:

Can't wait to see you guys face John Lackey next time. He was livid. :clapping :gt :dance

Well how 'bout that! (In my best Mel Allen voice)

I went to a fight and a baseball game broke out. I guess you could say that the pressures of the pennant race are evident. I believe the umpires could have prevented this fight with more ejections, earlier.

Anyways, I just hope the suspensions will kick in today, so my DETROIT TIGERS will benefit from this, hopefully Blalock and Young were involved?:D

Just remember, If Kenny Rogers hits any of your batters tonite, it was on accident. He doesn't throw hard enough to hurt anybody anyway, but you probably already know that.

They looked like a bunch girls in their effort to hit each other.

That's the case in most baseball fights.:laugh

I think they learn that in rookie league.

Here's the press release with all the suspensions and fines. From mlb.com

A total of 10 members of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and the Texas Rangers organizations have been disciplined for their participation in on-field incidents during their games on Tuesday and Wednesday at Ameriquest Field in Arlington. Bob Watson, Vice President of On-Field Operations for Major League Baseball, made the announcement. Each player, coach and manager who received a suspension also was fined an undisclosed amount.

• Angels pitcher Brendan Donnelly has been suspended for four games for intentionally throwing at a batter after warnings had been issued earlier in Wednesday's game;
• Rangers pitcher Scott Feldman has been suspended for six games for intentionally throwing at a batter after warnings had been issued earlier in Wednesday's game and fighting;
• Angels pitcher Kevin Gregg has been suspended for four games for intentionally throwing at a batter after receiving a warning for throwing at a batter earlier in the same inning of Wednesday's game;
• Angels second baseman Adam Kennedy has been suspended for four games for charging the mound and fighting in Wednesday's game;
• Rangers pitcher Vicente Padilla has been suspended for five games for intentionally throwing at a batter after receiving a warning for throwing at a batter earlier in the same inning of Tuesday's game;
• Angels bench coach Ron Roenicke has been suspended for one game for the intentional actions of Donnelly after warnings had been issued while Roenicke was acting as manager of the club on Wednesday;
• Angels manager Mike Scioscia has been suspended for three games for the inappropriate actions of his club during the series;
• Rangers manager Buck Showalter has been suspended for four games for the inappropriate actions of his club during the series;
• and Angels pitcher John Lackey and Angels outfielder Juan Rivera received undisclosed fines for their actions during Wednesday's on-field altercation.

The suspensions of Scioscia and Showalter are scheduled to begin tonight, when the Angels host Seattle and the Rangers are at Detroit. The suspension of Roenicke is scheduled to be served Sunday, August 20th.

Unless appealed, the suspensions of Gregg, Padilla and Kennedy are scheduled to begin tonight. The suspensions of Donnelly and Feldman are scheduled to begin Tuesday, August 22nd, when the Angels host Boston and the Rangers are at Tampa Bay. If appealed, suspensions will be held in abeyance until the process is complete.

Oh, I totally agree with you on the part of Padilla. Padilla has made not only his fans and manager mad, but his teammates as well. Barajas said he had no idea what Padilla was doing plunking Vlad and Rivera. Eaton never hit Rivera, it just went behind him. I honestly think Eaton didnt mean to hit him, but it is obvious that Padilla hit Vlad. I think Padilla should be suspended for it, but come on. When you miss Kinsler, hit Young, and then Guzman three batters in a row, you have it coming. Did you expect no retaliation after that?

But, nonetheless, I am very dissapointed in Padilla.

Buster Olney (www.espn.com) has written an article, "Padilla Needs to Grow Up." That about says it.

Admittedly, the Angels retaliated. Vlad and Rivera got hit by Padilla. (I won't talk about the chin music Vlad had to listen to two other at-bats.) So, the Angels plunk Young and Guzman. Even steven. Two fer two. It should have been over, but no. Buck has to one up them and order Kennedy hit too. Sorry, there were two outs in the ninth in a blowout. It should have just ended quietly, but no. Buck had to show them up.

Did I expect it, sure. Did they have it "coming?" No way. :mad:

Texas gets 15 days of suspensions to the Angels' 16. Something not right there.

I like having Padilla when he is pitching well but sometime's I wonder what he's thinking. This same type of thing almost happened when we played the white sox. and Padilla had a big part in that.
I think the guy's that laughing the most are the A's. They would love the rangers and angels to keep fighting and getting players suspended.

You're absolutely right about that.

On the other hand, I hope it helps to create a rivalry.

I have that game on dvd. It's comedy, the pitcher is twice as big as Kennedy and Kennedy was getting all crazy. Does anyone want that game from me for a trade?
