I want to see how everyone feels about the Colorado Rockies. When you say "Rockies" what player comes up in your mind? Basically, who is face of the Rockies' franchise?

I'm not sure you can go with anyone else but Todd Helton, maybe Larry Walker, but him going to the Cardinals took away from his number one status in Colorado. Helton for sure.

Agreed. Guys like Garrett Atkins and Matt Holliday are up-and-comers, but until Helton leaves the Rockies or retires, he's the face of the franchise. Heck, he probably will be even if he ends his career elsewhere.

Todd Helton, with Larry Walker a close second. Helton is breaking all Walker's records and is terrific hitter in or out of Coors Field.

It's Todd Helton, no doubt about it. Is there really a more recognizable Rockie? Also, the numbers speak for themselves.

How do you feel about the "he plays his home games at Coors Field" arguement?

Matt Holliday and Brad Hawpe could become the faces of the franchise in a few years though.

I don't know why I left Hawpe out of that group -- he's one of my favorite Rockies. :o
As a side note, I think there are a lot of really likeable young players on the Rockies who could be the Chipper Jones-es / Jeff Francoeurs (if you'll excuse my braves comparison) of the franchise -- Atkins, Holliday, Hawpe, Barmes, Sullivan, J.D. Closser, or someone like Spilborghs who is just getting playing time in the big leagues this year.

Look at his home/away stats. No big difference.

A lot of people feel Helton's stats are bloated, because he plays at Coors Field. As the numbers and his constant production shows, he gets it done everywhere.

Definetely Helton, he is this team's franchise player, forget his past few seasons, the Rockies would be nowhere without his bat and glove.

He's the most well known player ever in Colorado, and probably always will be.

I don't know, they do have some solid youngsters coming up. One that comes to mind is Chris Nelson.
