I have been interested in attempting to collect certain "fun sets", not for the $$$ value, but just for the sheer joy of collecting (which i think is missing from many "collectors" now adays...

Has anyone ever thought of attempting to collect every card number "one" in all of the produced Topps sets? (or perhaps #100 or what ever...?)

I thought it would be interesting to get a true feel of the history of cards... I havent done much research into this... but as far as i can tell, there arent any #1 cards that will cost too to much money? (no $25,000 and what not...).

Any thoughts? Have you ever heard of anyone doing this? Perhaps i would and or could get all of the series of numbers rated by PSA? blah blah blah...

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated...

I think the toughest Topps #1 casrds to find would be 1952, 1953 and 1954.
1952 is Andy Pafko and is supposedly very hard to find in decent condition. 1954 is Ted Williams, and I believe 1953 is Jackie Robinson.

Ted Williams was also #1 in 1957 and 1958. I have the 1957 card and would have bought the 1958 card if I had liked that set better.
