Do you guys know of any good sites to buy autographs and memorobilia and stuff like that? Ebay is too hard to navigate to find stuff for me.

Well, if you truly want to buy some memoribilia at good prices, ebay is the only place. Really, it's not that hard. Don't be too specific in your searches. Ebay stores always have great memoribilia items. If you need a little help on some specific searches, I'd be glad to help.

In my 5 yrs of being a member of eBay, I have never bought an autograph there. How in the world am I supposed to know if the player really signed it? Anyone can make up and print out their own letter of authenticity and pose it as the real deal. Your BEST bet would be to go in MLB.com, they have a auction site there where you can bid on real autos.

ebay is the way to go, but only if you know what you're doing. I have bought from people I know on a baseball autograph message board (not SCN).

Riddle me this: I log into eBay, click "buy", click "baseball memorbilia". etc,etc... search for whoever signed 8x10. Ok, a ton of auctions pop up. Some for 50 bucks, others for $9.99. There is ZERO way of knowing that the autograph was REALLY signed by the player. And I could very well be wasting $50 for some idiot signing and ruining a photo.

This is how I see autographs, for me at least, they're for my personal collection/enjoyment, I dont care if they're worthless because theyre on an unofficial ball, and to me, if it says they signed it, then they signed it, if they didnt, I dont know, and since I wouldnt know, It wouldnt really bother me.

I can see what you mean, but I will try to explain what I can.
For ebay, there is a very, very large portion of fakes out there. If you took the time to read my post, then it will do you good. Here's what I do when looking to stuff to buy on ebay, it might help a lot of you guys out on here:
1.DO NOT buy autographs of stars. I will tell you guys now that almost every single uncertified one on ebay right now is forged.
2.DO NOT buy from people with pictures of people signing in the description. You can find tons of pictures like that over the internet
3.DO NOT buy from people from zero or low feedback, that is usually a dead giveaway that person was kicked off of ebay and got a new account
4.DO NOT buy stuff as advertised as having a COA from ScoreBoard. Most of the ScoreBoard stuff on ebay have forged COA's with fake signatures. Most collectors might know of this by now, but just posting it for people to be aware. I made the mistake of buying one a while back, which turned out to be fake.
5.DO NOT buy autographs of deceased Hall of Famers or high-end players without a valid COA such as PSA/DNA, JSA, or other companies like Steiner or Tri-Star. Like #1 at the top, almost all the uncertified ones are forged.
6.DO NOT buy autographs without scans. I can't believe how many people buy autographs without seeing it first.
7.COMPARE the autograph with one that is guaranteed to be authentic, such as a certified autograph from a card company, or from a major dealer like Steiner or Tri-Star.
8.EXAMINE the autograph as much as you can. If it is a deceased player, study what that player signing habits were when he was alive. I have interviewed many people who have collected TTM in the 1970's and 1980's and have gathered many valuble information on deceased HOF players, such as what pens they normally used, and if they even signed TTM. Using information I collected, I can say that Judy Johnson normally used a black ballpoint ink pen, and almost always inscribed "Best Wishes" to the left of his signature. He would also rub an eraser over the top of the HOF plaque so that when he signed, the autograph would stick.
9.WHEN in doubt, use PSA/DNA's quick opinion on ebay. It costs you about $7 (I think), but it is worth it if you are looking for something you are interested in.
10.LEARN when card sets release dates are. I have personally seen "signed" cards of guys (ex. A. Bartlett Giamatti, Harvey Kuenn) that were released after they died.
I understand your opinion on the hobby, but using these methods and being careful, I was able to expand my collection more than if I just had collected TTM. Good luck collecting

I read what the link that you enclosed had to say. Oh, I agree with the guy on several factors. I'll just stick with my TTM and in person.

WHAT? You'd trust an eBay seller over an independent website owner? You're outta your mind.

Big one here, DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM BASEBALLDOME ON EBAY. Some of you guys who know their two cents about autographs, check his stuff out for a chuckle (if he hasn't been booted off yet), kinda sad though who bids on that stuff. Nice to see you here EG, this is Simon from Simons autographs, haven't seen your name on forums for awhile...

Figured, He is selling a lot of autographs on there, mostly football rookies, all the same set, every player almost. All apparently have COA's. Sox, you know anyone who is the real deal and really great on EBAY, and perhaps a little not as expensive? But price really doesnt matter all that much.

There are a few guys who are very legit, I'll do a couple searches right now and come up with a couple names for you, hold on.
Actually, there are a whole lot that are legit, post back ones that you may consider bidding on items from and I (or anyone else for that matter) can probably tell you quickly if they're good or not. Just watch out for the low-feedback superstar selling people.

This is my .02 on buying autographs, regardless of which site you use:
1. Make sure you get a COA from a REPUTABLE person, such as James Spence (JSA) or PSA/DNA. You could go with Steiner or TriStar, but I avoid those guys on principle because they are nothing but memorabilia manufacturers.
2. Remember that COAs are easier to forge than the acutal autograph.
3. Piece of mind is is worth the most. Before James Spence became a full-time authenticator, he was a dealer and I typically paid 10-20% more because I knew his stuff was legit and I didn't have to worry about whether or not I was getting something that was authentic.
4. When looking at items authenticated by PSA/DNA or JSA, make sure the item has the serial number attached. Sometimes a dealer will send a slew of items to be authenticated and the only thing that comes back with the items is a letter that is not specifically attached to any one item. Make sure your COA is item-specific.
autographcollector, while I understand where you are coming from and I can personally relate to just sticking with TTM or IP autographs, you can't be sure 100% that your TTM item(s) has been signed by the person, either.
Heartoftheorder, I don't think you can say that a website owner is more legit than someone on ebay, or vice versa. If an ebay person is selling items that have been authenticated by PSA/DNA or JSA, that's a huge step in the right direction.
Typically, if you're interested in a particular player or team, at the ebay prompt I will type, for example, "Red Sox PSA/DNA" or "Jim Rice PSA/DNA". It's actually quite easy to do. If nothing comes up, then wait a week. Chances are you'll find the item you're looking for at the price you desire.

Is anyone here familiar with radtkesports on ebay? I'm thinking about buying a couple of items from them. It seems like they have good feedback. Has anyone ever bought from them or have any idea whether they are legitimate or not?

As long as the dealers are selling items that have been authenticated by PSA/DNA or JSA, and the item has a specific serial number attached to it, then you should be fine.
