I never liked the guy because of his offensive shortcomings and also because of the things he said about Mets fans. That said, I saw him and Roberto Alomar execute some of the most amazing DP's I've ever seen.

Didn't he call Mets fans "stupid", then they dealt him to Tampa Bay?
I remember he'd had a sweet glove but absolutely no bat. Then he reversed his luck, started batting but then his fielding suffered. Crazy moment.

Yeah, he called Mets fans ‘stupid’, among other things. I forgot what prompted that remark from him, but shortly after that incident, he was gone. Good riddance.
By the way, IIRC, this incident took place around the time when Armando Benitez created a huge commotion by refusing to sign autographs during some festivities at Shea and Tony Tarasco and another player (forgot his name) were caught smoking weed after a game. Truly a time to forget. :ughh
