You heard it from me first.
Recently, Alex Rodriguez and Derek Jeter escorted Kazmir on ARod's private jet, trying to convince him to become a Yankee. Kazmir simply said that the only team he wants to go to is the Yankees. What he asked for is seats in Yankees Stadium behind homeplate for is friends, and he got them.
How do I know this? I know the girl who he dated throughout highschool, she was a friend of my sister. And we got some of the tickets behind homeplate.
And if you don't believe me, you can kiss my *Chevy Nova* when Kazmir becomes a Yankee, because it WILL happen.
Bye!

It could happen. If the Devil Rays don't sign him to a long term deal, he will only be 23 or 24 when he becomes a free agent. That means A-Rod like contract for Scott.

He'll get at least TWO huge contracts over his career, probably more. It wouldn't surprise me to see Kazmir as a Yankee someday. They are always after the big guys when it comes to FA's, and Kazmir is sure to be the best available whenever he hits the open market. Although, it also wouldn't surprise me to see him end up back with the Mets. They've been offering Steinbrenner-type contracts lately (Beltran, for one), and they too are always after the best pitching they can get their hands on. Another team may jump in desperately and trump the New York offers, but those two teams have to be the front-runners when the time comes.
As for the guy getting some of those Kazmir tickets, good for you. No ticket is better than a free one, and it's even cooler when you know you got it from Kazmir, and then even maybe Jeter or some other Yankee down the line. It's a keeper, that's for sure. What game is it?

I believe what you're describing would be considered tampering and is illegal. One team can not court another team's player while that player is still under contract. And since we're still at about mid-season, Kazmir is under-contract and the free agency signing period won't start for several months I'd say you are either full of it or the Yankees are violating the MLB collective bargaining agreement.
I'm inclinded to think the Yankees aren't dumb enough to do that.

I think I threw up in my mouth a little bit.
You CANNOT just speculate like that and have that title. I don't give a flying farce about some "destined" Yankee... they have picked up guys like Giambi and Sheffield, but Kazmir could join Beltran, Vidro, Boone, Nomar, Pujols, Bonds, Sheets, Santana, and others.
It's like surmising the Yankees will use their money to not settle and get excellent pitching, when they pick up NL-only pitchers like Pavano and Wright with spotty histories, and guys like Vazquez and Johnson also have been hit coming into the AL.
By the time he's a FA, the Mets could be a better team, or at least better within their league, and offer the same money for their lost prospect. OTOH I have no idea what will happen, really. Didn't Damon say he wanted to stay in Boston? He didn't get enough of an offer and respect, but it was enough to get by on.

Is anyone paying attention to the fact that if this is true that this would be player tampering and the Yankees would get royally burned by MLB for doing it?
This is the kind of thing that gets owners banned and suspended from operating their own teams for years. There's no way the Yankees would do this.

Ted Turner got in trouble for tampering with Gary Matthews. This is no different if true.

Yankee fans are delusional. Get a grip, can't you understand that Lidle is the best you're going to get. Tampa is not dumb enough to get rid of this guy for now.

It's not tampering since Brian Cashmen isn't really doing it himself, it's just a few players taking him out and showing him around. ARod and Jeter have their own tickets, too.

Read my first post. No link. And I don't care if you still don't believe me.

Since the original forumer said that it's just speculation, I'm closing this. Until I see any truth to this, which I don't expect, I've both added the "(pure speculation & unfounded rumor)" thing at the end, as well as am closing this thread.
Please, no wild speculation. If not, then we'll have more "Pujols to the ____" threads abounding endlessly.
Thanks. :)
