CC turns 25 today and has already accomplished things only Ty Cobb has done in the history of baseball. If Crawford was on the Yankees or Red Sox, he's be on a Wheaties box already, or have his own commercial or cologne. Here in Tampa Bay, he plays in virtual anonymity, but is becoming a vocal team leader. He signed a long term deal in the offseason, and hopefully will be a cornerstone of the re-building of this franchise.
Congratulation Carl and keep up the great work :clapping

Well, Carl certainly should be given his due and shipped to Boston, pronto. :) I love to watch him play, but didn't realize his totals were that impressive. Good for him.

he has some amazing stats for being only 24......if he keeps this up he will be a sure thing hall of famer... I just hope that the D rays get some pitching help this offseason and maybe get a competitve team together....then maybe he will get recognized..... I wish we could post this in current events but they would just move it back here......:clapping :clapping

i always like to watch crawford play. the guy is one of the if not the fastest guy in the league. he hits well, runs well, and fields well. he and kazmir are 2 superstars down in tampa who need to be recognized.

I think anyone who knows baseball know Carl Crawford, he isnt too unknown. Its the casual fan that doesnt know who he is and doesnt vote for him in the All-star game

The best thing about Crawford, is his assuming leadership of the team. He is starting to be to the Rays what Jeter means to the Yankees. Of course he has a ways to go before he is compared to jeter, but he is heading in that direction.
Just saw an item on Fox 13 that they may put CC on the block.
I hope for you guys sake it doesn't happen.

The outfield is the one position the Rays have a lot of depth at. There has been talk of Crawford going to the Mets for Lastings Milledge, Philip Humber and Mike Pelfry. If true that is a trade the Rays would have to make.

No way in hell the Mets trade Milledge

Humber, Milledge, AND Pelfrey? I think I'd trade ANYONE for those three.

Wow, the guy I like the most from those is Mike Pelfrey whom I think will have the best career amongst those three.

LOL !!! You have to laugh about these statements. Cuz the Rays do make trades like that.
The real LOL is the TBDR mgt and owners.
Never gonna be a winner in TB until its sold outright.

I agree. Im not a Cub fan. But on my last trip to Vegas. I jumped on the over on the Cubs winning 80+ games.
I think the TBDR could help me there.

I always thought Carl Crawford was well known. I know exactly who he is and I knew he was really good, but not Ty Cobb-caliber.
Edit: Looked at this stats on baseball-reference and I must say that he is very similiar to Ichiro but I would take Ichiro over him anyday. And I don't even think that Ichiro should be compared to Ty Cobb.

I haven't seen anyone seriously put Crawford in a class with Ty Cobb. As far as Ichiro comparisons go, time will tell. Ichiro came to the majors as a polished professional. Crawford was known more for footaball in High School. Crawford has improved every year and we have to see if that continues. Crawford seems to have more power potential, and that continues to get better every year.
