Hi, I have my late Husbands Baseball Collection...
He had been collecting since 1967..
His collection stopped at 2004 when he died....
I was wondering if anyone could tell me where to start with sorting the cards and getting them ready for sale,,,
Maybe if some cards are worth more than others?
I have tryed going to sports memorbila stores but to no avail...
Thanks in advance,
Venessa

Venessa,
The late 60's and early 70's had some great cards during that time period. If you're looking for how much they are worth and have not been lucky at sports memorbilia stores, which are vanishing from our landscape, perhaps you can find a collectibles appraiser in your area, who can give you a fair estimate.

To get an idea of what things are worth....
Go to a good magazine store and buy a card magazine with a price guide inside.
Or go to your local Library and check out a recent card guide.
Or you can just do a search on eBay in the completed auction category and see what the card actually sells for.
If the cards are not older that 1967, and they havent been "cherry picked" you might be lucky to have a couple $100 cards, and a few $10-$590 cards. but nothing with great value. 95% will be in the 50 cent to $2.00 range. Most everything in the 1980-now era has little value (over produced).
Sell them on eBay with clear photos of front and back, in small groups, by year, or condition, or player, or team. And start the bidding low. There are a ton of cards from the 1967-2000 era, so dont expect a lot of $$.

I would go to www.beckett.com and buy a Price Guide Subscription. Should be about $5 for a month. Then do a search for all sets in your given years and you can sort the cards by dollar value. Then go through the cards and try to find the ones that have value. Should be fun!
