Hi, it's been a long time I haven't posted on this forum. But this picture really stunned me!!

This is a rendering for a proposed building in Longueuil. If you look at the bottom of the picture, you'll see some kind of a stadium. (Awfully looks like a baseball stadium)

I don't know about you guys, but it really looks like a baseball stadium. Anyone knows what it is?

That might just be the minor league ballpark in St-Lambert I mentionned in the "Is it too soon?" thread. Doesnt look quite multifunctionnal to me, tough.

Where did you find that, Gjm?

That's not Saint-Lambert - that picture is way east of the Jacques Cartier bridge - that building looks more like an outdoor theatre. The proposed Saint-Lambert site is just west of the bridge adjacent to Champlain College (I thought?).

No matter where it is - throw funny pin-wheel tri-colour hats on 'em, call 'em the Expos and I'll buy all of you a beer on opening day!! :)

I found it on Emporis. It's a site that gives you all the proposed, completed and approved buildings in every city of the world. Well, I checked out Longueuil, and there was building called "La Pointe de la Voie Maritime", the rendering of that building includes that baseball stadium!

Here's the link:

Looking closely at this rendering, it doesent look so much as a baseball stadium as it looks like an old roman theatre. Or perhaps the city of Longueuil is merely looking into the possibility of building it's own roman coliseum where they could have gladiator fights and christians thrown to the lions. :laugh

It most certainly MUST be a MLB-sanctioned baseball stadium... Why, just look at that parking lot filled to capacity.. approximately 8 spaces! :laugh

Another cruel irony is that in the upper right corner of the illustration you can see the Big Owe's tower... (sigh!) :ughh

Yes I saw that! I also realised the parking spaces! And after checking out Google Earth, there is no huge water fountain in that location!! I don't know, this is one weird rendering! Maybe the owner of the 20 storey high building wants to build the stadium himself.... I'm lost now!
