Hey, isn't Willie Keeler's streak actually 45 games over two seasons?

It would completely suck if he got to 55 games and then didn't get a hit. Go Utley!!!!!

It's over. He went 0-5 with a strikeout to end the streak. :(
I just want to see someone break 40 games.

Joe Dimaggio's streak might be overrated. I don't think so but a lot of people do. However, it is exciting when a player puts together a good one. Utley really didn't get close to Dimaggio's record, but it was still fun to keep up with.

Something I found interesting that I heard was that Chase had more multi-hit games during his 35 game streak than DiMaggio had in his entire 56 game streak.

Taking a glance at the two streaks, Utley beat Joe Dimaggio 23 to 22 multi hit games.

It's a nice streak, a gap of 12 from Rose to Joe compared to season HR, season ERA or strikeouts... It's good consistency.

That said, nobody ever tries to trade for a "hitting streak" in the middle or top of the order, though the streak's results are good. 300 times on base would be a better target, any way he can get them.

Why not double it, looking for those multi-hit games? Not streaks... Utley and Mauer have been piling them up, and that's really hot hitting when guys are getting multi-hit games 4 or 5 times a week.
