Pregnant woman dies after Boston baseball game; heat blamed
(Boston, Massachusetts-NBC) August 2, 2006 - A pregnant women died from what is thought to have been heat exposure while attending a baseball game Saturday in Boston, Massachusetts.
Denise Quickenton was seven months pregnant when she collapsed while watching a game at Fenway Park.
Quickenton and her husband Todd were sitting in the bleachers. They attempted to escape the heat under the stands near misters and fans, when she collapsed.
She was rushed to a local hospital where she delivered the baby and then died. The baby was named Maxwell Gregory Quickenton and weighed nearly three pounds.
Todd Quickenton is trying to focus on caring for Maxwell, "I miss her terribly. She was my heart, but I have someone to take of, that needs me to be strong."
