As of today the Rockies have allowed the fewest runs in the NL with 474 runs allowed in 106 games. They are on pace to allow only 724 runs, by far the fewest they have ever allowed in a single season. :crazy

I heard about this on the Dan Patrick show today, and my first thought was: Wouldn't the pitchers notice if a ball was soaked down to add weight? I've heard of pitchers who could tell if the seams on the ball were a little lower than what they wanted and ask for a different ball.
What do you guys think?
Here's a link I just found, and they indeed say they can tell the difference.

Is the Home Team Grounds Crew responsible for all the baseballs used, or does a seperate entity bring all the balls to the game?
Of course, as I write this, the Rockies are pounding the Brewers 0-8. :)
edit: Oops, just noticed the other thread (http://www.baseball-fever.com/showthread.php?t=48107) about this. Sorry:o

It's no mistake. This year their top 4 starters have been phenomenal for a Coors team.

I doubt anyone noticed this on Baseball Tonight or Sportscenter, since he's not on the Red Sox or Yankees, but the game a few days back in which Jeff Francis had a perfect game through five innings was one of the best-pitched I've ever seen in person.

Against a first-place Cardinals team, he gave up two hits (a double by Pujols and a bloop single) and walked none. He had almost every hitter off-balance all night long.

:laugh

So park factors will show Coors to be a "difficult" place to hit :clapping

It's kind of sad for the Giants, Padres, Cardinals, Braves, etc.

Maybe it's just me, but I'll take the Mets' mish-mash staff, still.
