I recently went through my childhood things and found that I have complete sets of several years worth of nonal ryan express cards. I have never tryed to trade cards before and I dont know what I am doing.

Do you know how I could make the most off of these cards? Do I want to sell them individually or as a set, and are those cards even worth anything?

Thanks.

Shain.

Give some years and numbers of the cards. Example 1990 topps 1 is a Nolan Ryan card.

I believe you're in possession of some "Nolan Ryan Texas Express" sets from the early 1990's.

Here's a pic of a few of the cards:

If that's the case, they're really not worth much. Do a search on eBay for "Nolan Ryan Express Card Set", and you'll see sets for as low as $2.50 each.

It might. Poke around on ebay and see what sets similar to yours are getting. There's plenty of sets up there.

Unfortunately, as Mike pointed out, they don't have much of a value. All the card companies just over produced everything form the late 1980s and early '90s. Only a few cards from that era have really managed to retain their value.

The Ryan Express cards certainly fall under this category. I hate to say this, shain, but the only reason I have any Ryan Express cards at all was because they commonly get included in the large bricks of cards one can buy at non-card shops, like Toys R Us, Meijer or Giant.
Complete sets are far and away the best way to package these cards, as they would hold interest of the score of Nolan Ryan fans out there. Individual cards themselves would be of interest to those who are collecting the set card by card, but, again, based on the value of the set, that would be extremely limited.

sometimes, if you are looking to sell off sets that are overproduced and such... it might be an idea to "dress em up" a bit more...

If you have those cards above, what if you put them into a display of some sort... a theme of some sort? Then perhaps you could gain some extra interest on ebay?

Only a thought, dont go buying a $25 display and then blame me if it sells for $20 with the cards on ebay! lol

as an example of what he is talking about here are some photos of a piece I have from the 1991 Braves. Nothing special about any particular item in this piese, but as a whole it is sharp looking and I have gotten many compliments on it. It has the 1991 Topps Cards for Mark Lemke, Lonnie Smith, Ron Gant, David Justice, Jeff Blauser, Steve Avery, Tom Glavine, Greg Olsen and John Smoltz. Centered in the iece is som parchment paper that says:
Atlanta Braves-1991 National League Champions
Greatest World Series of all Time

followed by the box score of all 7 games

In my opinion it is a sharp looking piece and its value is probably greater than the sum of all parts. I actually got the piece unframed from walmart for $5 in 1991 and the frame from walmart for the same price.
