he's a former all-star. all that we had to give up is a career utility player. i like this deal assuming belliard produces. also, it will be nice to add some stability to the 2B position.

ughhh as mutch as i like hector luna.....This is a great deal that puts the cardinals in a WAY better position to win. I never saw this deal coming but if they resighn him....We may finaly have a year where we have a legit, no questions asked starter...We sighn him up for like 3 to four years and we are set...now walt needs to get us a leftfielder!!!!

The only thing I don't like about the deal is that Belliard is 5 years older than Luna. But he is a much better player.

Ronnie Belliard is a veteran and I like that. He has about 7+ years of experience, a very dangerous defensive player and to some extent, a more severe version of Mark Grudzielanek that can hit. Righty, 8HRs, .290AVG, and now Miles will get demoted to backup or being a pinch hitter to get pop.

good deal for REDBirds....now if you could pick up another pitcher
and outfielder...Indians are having a mini fire sale..after this season
went in the tank for them...Tigers have a lot of extra pitchers,both
in Detroit, and in Toledo and Erie...Walt oughta sniff around, and
make a deal with DD in Detroit...Leyland was a super scout for
the cards,the past seasons..before getting back in the saddle..
He has done a great job in getting the Tigers playing hard...
