With Nate Robertsons' win tonight, that gives every position in the Tigers rotation double digit wins by the 103 game. Has that happened so quickly before. I imagine it had to of during the 4 man rotation days. However since the 5 man rotation was pretty universally implemented has it?

Bonderman 11-4
Rogers 11-4
Robertson 10-6
Verlander 13-4
Miner/Maroth 11-4 (Colon also had a ND in 1 start)

I was looking this up in Retrosheet, and this is what i got:

In 1998, the Atlanta Braves won 106 games anchored by a rotation that included Cy Young Winner Tom Glavine (20 Wins), Greg Maddux (18), Denny Neagle (16), Kevin Millwood (17) and John Smoltz (17). They all had 10 wins by August 4th, that was the 113th game of the season, this will be the record, by my accounts.

But if we analyze this like you do, Atlanta reached the plateau by July 24th, or better said, the 103rd game, which Detroit equalled. How to explain:

Maddux won his 10th in the date of 6-17-98. (71st game)
Glavine won his 10th in the date of 6-23-98. (77th game)
Millwood won his 10th in the date of 7-4-98. (87th game)
Neagle won his 10th in the date of 7-15-98. (94th game)
Smoltz won his 9th in the date of 7-24-98. (103rd game)
(Dennis Martinez filled for 3 Starts in the place of the injured Smoltz from 5-28-98 to 6-9-98. He won in his 6-2-98 start throwing a complete game against the Milwaukee Brewers).

This means that this Detroit team holds the record, tied with the Braves in the Five Man Rotation Era, IMO.

NICE!!!! I would have no Idea on even where to begin, in tracking something like that down. Short of starting with every teams schedule and manually counting wins. I guess I could skip both the current KC squad and the 2003 Tigers. :D

Let's see how many of those 5 hurlers reach 15 wins, only the 1998 Braves have 5 15-game winners the same season.

And to think that didn't do them squat in the playoffs.

The 1998 Yankees did it in 112 games.

The 2001 Mariners did in 122 games.

Nope, the record goes to the Braves, and the Tigers now.

Not all 5 with the Tigers staff, that's for sure. Since Maroth 5-2 and Miner 6-2 aren't going to make it in the 4th/5th spot. I could certainly see the other 4 guys making it.
