I heard a rumor about him somehow becoming a cardinal and i thought nothing of it......But on mlb.com it was said the cardinals where gonna make a pass on trying to aqquire him.....I really dont know who the cards have to trade to the marlins to aquire him.....anybody they would want is probally untouchabe.....So what do you guys think......does it get done??? do we want him????and is he worth what we give up for him??

I would like him. If we just trade a few minor leaguers, then the deal would be worth it.

wouldn't be too bad of a trade but, the marlins r in the wild card hunt, and D-Train is just too good for a couple of prospects to me, but then again thats just my opinion

From what I understand, the Cardinals don't really have any major league ready prospects (and the few they have, they aren't willing to part with). While they do have low-minors prospects, the Marlins probably don't want them.

unless this trade involves mark mulder and jason marquis, i'm not that interested.

like ebanks mentioned, we are loaded with A-level prospects. we have a lot of guys who have MLB potential, but it's hard to sell those guys off for a proven MLB all-star.

even if the marlins are interested in acquiring a few kids from the quad cities, i'm still reluctant. i think willis is a great pitcher, but not necessarily the dominating stopper that can be the difference in a playoff series.

I really dont know what to think......hes good but....our farm system is already bad enough withouht trading anymore prospects.......but then again hes also very young and could be with us for a long time.....idk.....:crazy

I would give up Duncan and Wainwright for Willis probably not Reyes though. Since Willis is so young giving up your untouchables (Wainwright) makes sense. I think Willis has a consistency about him that only Carpenter on the present staff has.

On the trade front, we can always trade So Taguchi. He has been called a great fundamental player time and time again, then you see him misplay ball after ball in the outfield, and make baserunning boners like he did against the Cubs.

There should be no excuse for making a baserunning mistake like Taguchi did. It is one thing for Jeff Suppan to make a baserunning mistake, but another thing for a player like Taguchi to do so.
