It seems upon further exploration that Harold was not a weird pervert. How could he have held a position for 11 years? It seems that the real problem came when, Reynolds would not support the COMPANY line that the NY Yankees should trade A-Rod. In fact if you think about that time, he was the only dissenter toward such a trade.
God Bless you John Kruk.

WHAT? That warrants ESPN to fire him? I don't agree with that decision and I don't think it's that serious to disagree with a trade rumor. Everyone is entitled to an opinion and you can't force someone to say something they don't believe! So everyone at Baseball Tonight wanted yanks to trade AROD cept HR? Who cares? Bring back Reynolds for God's sake!!!!

Exactly where did this information come from? Do we have an actual legitimate source?
Secondly, are we to believe that Reynolds is a martyr to the Disney Corporation which owns ABC, which owns ESPN? Exactly what would Disney have to gain by using its media influence to get the Yankees to trade Pay-Rod and why would it care if Harold Reynolds said it wasn't a good idea?
This idea sounds a bit crazy.

Umm that's wrong. It was the other way around. Kruk was saying "you can't trade ARod, in a month he'll be a MVP candidate" and HR was adamant saying "he can't make it in NY, it's in his head, thats why he can't field."

Exactly... They had a great, somewhat heated debate over this on the Sunday Night BBTN show....
Also, this is a quote from Harold himself:
"It was a total misunderstanding," Reynolds told the Post. "My goal is to sit down and get back. To be honest with you, I gave a woman a hug and I felt like it was misinterpreted."

What was the title of the woman whom he was accused of a "hugging" that was "misinterpreted", according to his words? I remember seeing "PA", but I'm not sure what that meant.
With a likely mostly male staff, I wouldn't be surprised if several guys in there were involved in the same thing. If someone goes against the company line, then guess what they fire them for?
If, as has been reported, ESPN execs' egos are so fragile that they can't get rebuffed by one of their own vets w/o deciding to can him, then perhaps they should try not making the news and try reporting it again. Opinion on Alex Rodriguez is expected. However, they shouldn't try shoving this down everyone's throats.

This is silly. You don't fire a guy over something that simple. You may not renew his contract when the time comes. The fact Reynolds isn't talking speaks volumes on this issue.

This sounds like a great plot for an Oliver Stone movie!

I'm afraid Mr. Stone is otherwise engaged making a film about 9/11, which I am thoroughly sure will be completely accurate, not full of crackpot conspiracy theories and not at all exploitative.

There is no way he was fired for not agreeing, not a guy who has been there for 11 years. The sexual Harrasment thing is why he is fired, right now all I know is that it was a misinterpreted hug and nothing else, and I dont know if much of us know anymore about the matter. Lets not blow this one out of proportion like we did with the Rockies thing...please. Atleast not until we get more information.

Well, this theory can simply be discredited because Steve Phillips also agreed with Harold on the issue and he still has his job.
