Here is a thread dedicated to best and worst of baseball players. These are only opinions, so you may or may not agree with me.

Best NL Rookie: Prince Fielder - don't get me wrong, he may strike out and GIDP, but his offense and defense are pinpoint at times, and he can destroy pitchers that throw fastballs in the middle of the strike zone.

"Worst" NL Rookie: Hanley Ramirez - I'm worried about his defense and his cold streak that probably was the knockout blow to his ROY chances.

Best AL Rookie: John Papelbon - he may be the first Red Sox to get the most saves on the team in his rookie year.

"Worst" AL Rookie: none. I can't think of any right now.

Best veteran pitcher: Carlos Zambrano - do I need to say more? He is very long overdue to win a Cy Young, and this year may be it. 147 K's

"Worst" veteran pitcher: Greg Maddux - I really hate to say this, but I think he's done.

Best batter not named Albert Pujols: Dan Uggla - he may be a poor man's Chase Utley, but he can deliever a huge KO and has 15 home runs already in his rookie year. In addition, he's a power hitting second baseman, which wasn't heard of since "Ryno" Sandberg.

"Worst" batter not named Albert Pujols: Richie Sexson - with 12 GIDPs, 103 batter strikeouts and batting .231, I get worried that he may be shipped or forced to be the DH. He's a Rob Deer hitter: he pulls off amazing, towering home runs - but misses or GIDPs a lot!

Best home run trot: Jeffrey Leonard - even if he retired, his "One Flap Down" trot will always be remembered.

"Worst" home run trot: I can't think of any right now.

More categories to come, but here's round one.

Defense and possible steriod use aside, I'd consider Alfonso Soriano and Bret Boone to be two recent "power hitting" second basemen, hitting 39 and 37 HRs in a season, respectively.
