Article about Title IX and what COULD happen (this could affect girls'/women's baseball):

Like Ruggiero said, why should women have to "prove" they have an interest in sports to have them provided to them when men don't, AND WHY do men think women's sports have been created at THEIR expense?????
Oh, that's right... women shouldn't have ANY opportunities AT ALL because we are so inferior and our job is to serve :laugh :laugh :laugh :laugh :laugh :laugh :laugh!!!!!
Bring it on, boys!!! I will NEVER let my guard down!!! :waving

1..The word is adversity. Unless you pluralize, and use adversaries.
2..Don't generalize. Not all men think(?) that women have no place in sports.

Both adversary and adversity fit, but I chose the word adversary, because that's what I was talking about. Adversary is an opponent or enemy, and a certain group of people can be spoken of in singular form. Adversaries is NOT the plural form of adversity. Adversary and adversity are two completely different words with completely different meanings.

I was not speaking of the ill-fortune that females face when it comes to sports; rather, I was speaking of the opponents to the advancement of and creation of opportunities for women's sports. In this case, adversary is the "good ole' boys" network that keeps stepping in the way of and trying to curtail the advancement of women's sports.

I didn't say all men think women shouldn't have a place in sports. As far as the posts in this thread, if people posting comments have read all of them, they would know what we are talking about. The general comment about men is relating to what could happen with Title IX. It's all relative. And, almost all the men I have ever known think women should be under their control... regardless of what they say about it during conversations. And, that does affect their opinions of many things, including women's roles in sports.
Have you changed your mind about women playing baseball if they want to and that 12 year old girl should go ahead and play baseball and believe she has a future in baseball if that's how she sees it, instead of listening to bigots tell her to give it up and it will never happen and that softball is for her and every other female out there who wants to play ball?

There is no point in picking on grammar here, Bob, other than to stir the pot. If you'd like to discuss the topic itself, by all means post, but please don't critique the writing. Thanks.
