The Twins are charging and the White Sox are losing ground in the race for the division title.
Is this game a must win for the White Sox?
What a pitching matchup?

With the White Sox being 7.5 behind Detroit and the Twins being 9.5 back, I'd say that every game is a must-win. Not literally, but you now have pride on the line with two elite pitchers.
With the Twins having won the 1st of the 3-game series on Chicago's South Side, I'd say that defending one's home turf would also play into White Sox' feelings also. :)
Let's see your guy, the powerful Jose Contreras do his thing vs the crafty southpaw, Johan Santana.

The White Sox had a swoon like this about the same time last year so this may not be such a big deal. The thing that is really troublesome for them is that the starting pitching is looking awful fragile.

Yeah but the big difference is the Sox weren't 7.5 games back last year;)

Different ballgame when your trying to gain games when behind. Most of all against teams as hot as the Tigers and Twins. I think people have finally excepted what I said over a month ago, that the Tigers aren't going to crash, "Hell even Leland said they would slow down".
If the Sox continue playing like this they wont even make the playoffs. If they keep pitching Vasquez in the rotation they wont make the playoffs. If people think that's disloyal then so be it. I will add I hold Ozzie and the coaches responsible, Ozzie has made some boneheaded moves out there this year, he just did another one yesterday when he left Vasquez in in the 6th even tho he hasn't made it to the 7th in 9 out of 10 games this year.
