Trade for Mench?

According to the Post Gazette we have inquired about Kevin Mench. The Rangers are said to want a young starter in return. After coveting Perez in the off-season, they now say he is not good enough for Mench. I think that would be a great trade as both guys have immense potential and both are having awful years. If we trade Duke, Maholm or Gorzy, DL would have to be out of his mind (pardon the oxymoron).

Despite his little homer streak earlier this year, Mench is just an average guy. I would think you would want to acquire something better than a league average hitter in a LFer. Particularly if you have to give up a starting pitcher to get it.
