Which Yankees team do you think was the all-time best? I've only included the 26 WS Champions plus an other option (perhaps you feel that one of the pennant winning teams was better but unfortunate in the WS). In parentheses are each team's record and winning percentange.

EDIT: I've added the managers of the respective teams in. Not sure why, other than I thought it would be interesting.

I wish I could vote a tie between the 27 and 98 versions. I think it is that close. I voted for the 98 team because of their lack of certain HOFers and that they proved that Baseball was a team game.

One note-Stengel's best team is not listed at all. Of course that was a team that didn't even win the pennant at all, finishing second to the Indians in 54.

That team is the primary reason that we have the "other" option. I did note that team, among many others, in my second post.

It's very hard to argue against any team that features Ruth and Gehrig. The '98 Yankees are impressive because they did it in the modern era with expanded playoffs. However, the one team that might be the best, IMO, is the 1961 Yankees. I haven't voted yet, but it's coming down to those three.
