Josh Beckett mainly throws his fastball which ranges from 93-97 and touches 98. He throws a 12 to 6 curveball in the low 80s. When Beckett is on, he can throw his curveball for strikes. Beckett also has a changeup, but he rarely throws it.

Tim Wakefield mainly relies on his knuckleball, ranging from the low to mid 60's,which he throws about 85% of the time. When he doesn't throw his knuckleball, he throws his fastball which tops out in the mid-70's. He mainly throws his fastball during 3-0 counts, but mixes it into other counts once in a while.
As with most knuckleballers, the old saying is, "If it's high, let it fly; and if it's low, let it go"

Papelbon relies on his fastball that can go anywhere from 93-98 at times. he can locate it on both sides of the plate and can put away hitters with it. He also uses a nasty splitter that is in the mid to high 80's. He rarely throws the splitter for a strike.
When he was a starter in 2005, he also used a change-up and curveball, but those pitches could use a little refining. He rarely ever uses the change-up in relief and never uses the curveball.
