why does evry body boo a-rod. i know because of his fielding and hitting but if the fans keep booing him it will get worse. Right?

People boo him because it's the "in" thing to do right now and then they remind you of his paycheck.

If you look around the league I think there still isn't a more productive 3B.
He is struggling defensive-wise but that's a mental thing he's got going on right now.

Yankee fans should NOT boo ARod.

.

I don't know if I agree with that.

There are a lot of 3B in the league right now that I'd take over A-Rod (Cabrera, Wright)... Here's a list of 3B that are obviously better then A-Rod right now.. I think he's in a slump just like Mike Lowell was last year..

-Mike Lowell .297 12 50 47 1
-Troy Glaus .247 25 68 64 3
-Miguel Cabrera .331 15 63 68 7
-David Wright .316 21 79 63 11
-Scott Rolen .328 14 61 63 6
-Aramis Ramirez .260 19 59 45 1

(the above stats go in this order: Avg, HR, RBI, Runs, SB)

I couldn't find the total amount of errors each 3B has made but I'm sure everyone already knows that A-Rod leads 3B.

I'm sorry...

I mean ONE of the more productive 3Bs around.
People boo ARod as if he's putting up some crazy numbers.
All of his numbers are still pretty good...they are just not ARod-esque.

i am not unhappy with AROD's numbers but with his defence and lack of productive outs. I don't "boo" Arod but he doesnt advance runners, k's with men on base and GIDP alot. there is never a simple sack fly with him. For the "best player in baseball", he needs to have a more firm grasp of the fundamentals, and i think making productive outs for your team are an important part of the game. Everyone slumps from time to time but its feast or famine with him.

Giambi clearly shows more feast and famine than AROD

I disagree that he makes no productive outs. Check what his PPPA is, I`m not sure but just from whatching him it has to be high

History repeats itself..... remember when Reggie Jackson came to the yanks from oakland and struck out all the time... he was booed, and not cut any slack because he wasn't "homegrown". Then he became Mr. October and the "Reggie" chants started and then the fans laid off. If the yanks win the world series and Arod is a major contributer everything will be fine. Even with this year Arod is still probably the best 3rd baseman around. Everyone ois sayi ngdavid wright is a candidate for NL MVP..... look at the stats, almost identitcal besides the average, A rod is putting up NL MVP numbers in his worst season? He wil lturn it around this year, and if he doesnt my guess is he will be traded.. but if we can get a solid pitched,3rd baseman and a few prospects i wouldn't mind it

Educated as far as formal education? Or as to being rational in not expecting God-like performance from a 3Bman?

I wouldn't even say those boo-birds are either ignorant nor arrogant. I just feel that their standards are extremely high, and that they lack the werewithal to realize that their booing is counterproductive to their ever-increasing expectations that he be superb on the field.

It's not like some video game where you push a button and the results come immediately. He's human, so people will fail accordingly.

I also think that people are falling in line...it's now a cool thing to do, boo ARod.

I just don't get why his teammates are going to bat for him.
Why doesn't Jeter stand up and say something to the media?? Didn't he do that for Giambi when Jason was struggling?

Or is there still a rift between Jeter and ARod leading back to that Esquire Mag article? I just don't understand it, I don't want to hear Joe Torre's Politically Correct BS. I would love to see Jeter, Bernie, Posada or Mo stand up and speak up for ARod.

Jeter has been all too quiet about this situation. I remember him telling the fans to back off Knoblauch when Knoblauch had his throwing troubles. When Giambi had his struggles, Jeter also spoke up. All Jeter has been doing in this current situation is saying that AROD has to deal with it. By being captain of the team, he should be supportive of all players currently on the team whether he likes them or not.

I definately agree with you, so that's what's so perplexing about this whole thing. I mean the guy stuck up for Giambi and he's the dirty player.
All ARod did was call him a 2nd Hole hitter...and that was the truth at the time.

I`ve heard a lot about that and I`m wondering excactly what happened.

I've heard that ARod was so concerned about how the interview came out that he went to go see Jeter in person and to explain his version of the story.

Its said that ARod had Jeter have an "on-field" relationship and can sometimes be seen joking around in the club house once in awhile...but that do not really speak outside 'work'.

Honestly...I think that Jeter is holding a grudge about the whole thing still.

I think he said a little more than that. He insinuated that Jeter never was in a situation where he was the guy that was expected to carry the team, unlike A-Rod. Kind of ironic now.

After Curt Schilling and several Red Sox players made very strong comments the winter before last about Alex Rodriguez, neither Jeter nor anyone else would stick up for him either. It seems as if Alex is on his own out there.

As to the Esquire mag article, I think that was when Alex said that it was himself who could be expected to lead the team and do the things needed, whereas Jeter wasn't expected to do that. At the time, Alex was and still is the better hitter, at least as far as slugging is concerned. However, Jeter has been the Yanks' leader and spark plug for quite awhile now.

Alex led relatively small market teams and did well. Unfortunately, Texas needed more than him, as they were consistantly low-rated in the AL West. In effect, Rodriguez was the biggest fish in a very small aquarium. Jeter excelled in the biggest ocean out there. Therefore, while Rodriguez is the better player, I don't find his earlier comments relevant, especially considering that Alex has never even been in a WS.

Perhaps those remarks haven't gone away as far as Jeter is concerned. It could just be that after Alex was called the offensive and defensive superior to Derek, our captain may just be more willing to look out for himself. I personally wish he'd have moved to 3B or 2B, but it's his and Torre's decision to make. Mostly Joe Torre's.

Actually ARod said that people don't goto NY thinking..."Don't let Jeter beat us"...they go in not wanting to get beat by Tino, Paulie, and others. He said that no one really fears a No. 2 hitter.

It was something to that affect.
