I am glad to see that Travis Lee hit his sixth homerun in today's game with the Twins and now the former first round pick can no longer count his 2006 HR total on one hand.
Who would of thought Lee of all people would hit a HR off of Johan Santana?
Also, is was good to see Gomes hit is 19th in last night's loss, but it's too bad it didn't carry over in to today's game. Gomes struck out four times and even left more men on base (5). After Lee picked up his second hit of the game to lead off the ninth inning, Twins closer Joe Nathan (6-0 18 saves) struck out the side including Gomes as the last out to end the game to earn his 18th save of the year. The Devil Rays have still not been in the win column since the All Star break and today's loss completes a four game sweep for the Minnesota Twins.
