I know what you mean but when you talk about D-Rays what exactly are they supposed to talk about? They aren't in contention. Its a business, more people wanna know about teams like the Sox, Mets and Yankees than D-Rays.

It's the East coast Sports Network - what do you expect?

It does get a little ridiculous with that, but they're just trying to appeal to the lowest common denominator of fans.

Probably because the west coast rarely has good enough teams to even contend for the World Series
Who was it on this board that called ESPN the "Eagles, Sox, and Poker Network"?

Even on the ESPN website, the main headline is nearly always Yankee-related.
Same over here with SKY Sports & soccer, it's Manchester United & Chelsea that get all the coverage! :grouchy

I love how on Sportscenter this morning, they showed Adum Dunn's 8th inning HR but they didn't show Rich Aurilia's game-tying and game-winning RBIs in the 8th with 2 outs.

It's sportscenter, they have plenty of other things to cover. They do that with a lot of teams, they show the big name guy do the big thing, hitting homeruns. As far as baseball tonight is concerned...they talk about the big things in baseball right now. The trade deadline is approaching so they cover that alot. They cover the Cubs, Yankees, Red Sox and Mets why? Becuase those are the teams the majority of the nation like and watch. Sure we on here all love teams from the Royals to the Yankees but, with the casual fan it isnt the same. Why do you think they never show a Devil Rays vs Royals game on Wed. Night baseball? It's a ratings game plain and simple. Sure they're here to tell us about sports but what money would they make showing complete clips of Royals, Devil Rays, Orioles, Reds, and other teams no one really cares about, no offense but no one besides people around that area care about them. WE care, but not the casual baseball fans. Do you think they would get ratings showing a whole baseball tonight show with just Reds? No.
I am going to support Baseball Tonight however, there are plenty of times when they talk about guys from the Devil Rays and Reds and teams of that nature. Is it to the extent of the big market teams? No. But there have been numerous times they've talked about Gomes, Kazmir, Liriano, Arroyo, Dunn, Patterson, Reggie Sanders, guys like that. They talk about the best teams in baseball and the big markets, no one wants to hear about losers, and yes I know the Reds are pretty decent this year, its just how it is. They have to make money and how else to do it but talking about big market winners.

What I was talking about is the fact that the play of the game wasn't shown on SC. It just seems wierd that the play that won the game wasn't shown but Dunn's HR was.
