I noticed this message board doesnt really have a introduction category for newbies and other greetings. Why is this?

I've been posting and viewing a lot on this site lately. Its very interesting and I'm very surprised how quickly people respond, even at 4 in the morning! I'm becoming addicting.

I'm another member of a big forum called OT and i know it costs a pretty penny to run. So I was wondering if donations are ever made to help run this site? I saw something about posts getting deleted and peoples posts counts going down because of it. On OT, they get deleted quite frequently on the main forum but post count stays the same, never decreases. So maybe theres away to avoid people losing there post count. Cause we all know how some people like a high post count :clapping But if I continue to use this site a lot, I wouldn't mind donating a small amount of money to help run it. I know it wouldn't be a lot but 5 bucks can add up quickly if you got a thousand people donating.

Hi, DodgerBlue8188, and welcome to the Fever! :waving It's always gratifying to us long-time members to hear of someone who really enjoys the boards.

We moderators have often discussed having a Welcome Forum, but always come to the conclusion that it would turn into a general offtopic discussion forum, and wander far afield from the purpose of BBF. We do have on the boards this thread: Who Are We? I'd Really Like to Know (http://www.baseball-fever.com/showthread.php?t=27430) This is as close to a welcome forum as we're likely to get, and it is policed carefully by a moderator. Please take a look, read through a few, and post your own contribution!

Baseball Fever is a site affiliated with Baseball Almanac (http://www.baseball-almanac.com/), a treasure trove of information for all baseball fans. All the BBA-affiliates are run mainly on donations. Here's the link to Support Baseball Almanac (http://www.baseball-almanac.com/support.shtml). Our webmaster, Sean Holtz, whose labor of love these sites are, will be happy for your interest in helping keep these sites afloat. :)

I'll echo Annie's warm greeting and extend an invitation to you to introduce yourself to us, and tell us something about yourself.
