Just curious to see if this organization is still around today, I know they started over 100 years ago but was wondering if they still have an organization or sub organzitions calling themselves the "rooters". And if so do they still sing "tessie"? I know the Dropkick Murphy's paid omage to this group and their popular track "tessie".

Nope, Nuf Ced McGreevys "Royal Rooters" are not around anymore. They started in the 1890's a matter of fact for the Boston Beaneaters. But they changed there alliance to the Red Sox with its creation in 1901. The Royal Rooters changed their team over ticket prices and some of their favorite players moved to the new team. The group even had a band present with them almost all the time. Singing Tessie would annoy the opposing team and lift the spirts of the Red Sox players. They traveled to all the games everywhere. But after awhile the Royal Rooters were getting older and were losing their fiestiness and rowdyness. In 1918 the Royal Rooters were disbanded.
