Everyone's bringing up Schilling being left off the all-star team, but Moose is having a better season in almost all aspects except for K/IP (which doesn't matter as long as your succesful)
Moose: 10-3, 3.24 ERA, 1.04 WHIP, 122.1 IP, 108 K, .225 opponent batting average, 16 homers allowed
Schill: 10-3, 3.60 ERA, 1.09 WHIP, 127.1 IP, 115 K, .255 opponent batting average, 19 homers allowed
Why has Moose been so overlooked in what could be his best half-season as a Yankee?

You may get a few answers in this thread, which includes Moose amongst the so-called "snubbed":

Mussina deserved to be there more than half the pitchers that were there, that includes starter Kenny Rogers. But Mussina's wasn't the biggest beef. Franciso Liriano should have been selected and not had to rely on being an injury replacement, and Justin Verlander probably has a better case than Mussina too.

Guys, hearing that one of your pitchers isn't invited or used in the ASG is good news. The Yankees were amply represented at the game anyway.

So long as the longest-standing Yankee pitcher came into the biggest pitching moment in the game and saved the game for us, I'm more than happy.
Mo good news! :D
Moose hasn't pitched since July 5th (http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/gamelog?playerId=2557), so an inning wouldn't have killed him. Then again, the rest wouldn't have either, so let's hope that his timing isn't off from having too much rest.

Numbers are really close. Mussina's numbers are better than Schilling, but not by much. Not enough to say Mussina so much better than Schilling. Granted, I also feel that many people did not make as much of a deal of Mussina being left off the team like Schilling. Though, Mussina does have some groin issues at the moment, which might be the rest.
Still baffling people are crying about Schilling being snub yet Schilling hasn't openly expressed a large disappointment of being left off to my knowledge. Might be because he pitched Sunday and would only be useful for one inning? Still, people really make too much of a deal about Schilling being snub. I would like to see Mussina's snub being discussed, but since he's been having some type of injury issues, if I remember correctly, being left off the All-Star team not a big deal.
Though, I think it sucks that Liriano didn't get add until the last minute. Had to make a last minute trip from DR to Pittsburgh and didn't even play. Yeah, that must be nice to make the trip out there for that. :laugh
