This thread is for any and all tidbits, news, reports for the Seattle Mariners Farm System. Feel free to contribute your thoughts here.

I watched the Aqua Soxs Saturday July 8th, 2006. A couple of players stood out and are exciting to watch.

The right fielder, Graterol, has an absolute cannon of an arm. The Emeralds tried to score a guy from second base on a single to right, in the second inning, and he was thrown out by a mile. Graterol has a gun and likes to show it off. After that play, the Emeralds were scared to run on him. Perhaps they could convert Graterol to a pitcher ?

The left fielder, Dickey is a real burner on the bases. He hit one in the right-center gap and had a stand up triple. A couple of pitches later he stole home, and slid head first, when the ball trickled a few steps behind the Catcher. The Pitcher was a day late covering home and it wasn't really close. The crowd went crazy.

Nesbitt, a lefty, started the game and pitched well. He's got a curve, fastball and pesky little change up that was effective. He was on a strict pitch count having thrown 100 innings in college this year.

Wladimir Balentien did well in the futures game yesterday, going 2 for 3 with two RBIs and a run scored. He has some pop -- if he could learn to shorten his swing a little he probably would hit a few more homers.
