Did anyone here ever see Randy Johnson pitch when he played for the Expos?

Anyone got any links to him playing for the Expos?

I probably saw him pitch but I don't have lasting memories of it. As strange as it may sound, he wasn't I believe, really touted as a prime prospect in the Expos organization. I don't think the Expos' brass had any idea he would turn out to be anything like he turned out to be. We heard a lot more about guys like Howard Farmer, Gabe White and "Wild" Bill Risley (who ended up in Seattle I believe) thru the years as people who would make their mark in the major leagues.

I just read where he went 0-3 in his first season with the single-A Jamestown Expos in 1985!

I think the Expos considered Randy a potential big-time prospect who through his years in Montreal couldn't get the ball over the plate enough and became expendable. The Expos I think really thought at the time of the deal that they had rooked the Mariners royally in getting Mark Langston. Instead the Mariners got Randy and Brian Holman who I always believed would have been a big winner for Seattle had he not blown his shoulder out. And don't forget Gene Harris who never realized the promise his 98+mph heater had in store for him. It was a steal for Seattle.

Imagine if they had kept Randy Johnson and the 94 season was completed. The Expos might have won the World Series, and could still be in Montreal to this very day!

But, to tell you the truth, I'm glad the Mariners got him.

Another left hander who had all the potential in the world was Baylor Moore. He was almost untouchable in the minor leagues (AAA) but at the major league level he just couldn't get it done.
