I'm drawing a blank right now. Has any opposing pitcher ever thrown a no-hitter against the Mariners?

I can remember The Rocket's 20-K game against us in 1986 (:grouchy ), but at least we got a couple hits in that game.

The only no-hitter ever thrown agains the Mariners was on May 14,1996 (http://baseball-almanac.com/box-scores/boxscore.php?boxid=199605140NYA) when the Yankees' Dwight Gooden threw pitched a 2-0 no-no at Yankee Stadium.

Yep...and, being a college student in NY, I get "treated" with that game on YES about once every 3 days...LOL

Oh, that's right, I remember that now. Thanks for refreshing my memory! Dang that Doc Gooden! :grouchy

;)

Actually that's pretty good that we've only been no-hit once in our entire history!

There's been another. April 11, 1990, there was a combined No Hitter. Ex-Mariner Mark Langston (7in, W) and Mike Witt (2in, S) beat them in Cali. The M's gave up 1 run and 7 hits.

That's a team no-hitter though...it doesn't get recorded as a no-hitter for any one pitcher. :)

I was thinking the same thing, considering the crappy teams the M's had from day 1 through the 80's.

Our history is 27 years.

I thought it was closer to 30?

27, 30 it's still not too shabby. We've been no-hit twice (as noted above), and have had two no-hitters. Can't complain too much in that regard, I suppose.
