I'll bet his agent will be hearing from the Nationals. The pitching staff here is a total mess. Of course it will depend on how much of his contract they would have to assume. Our most reliable,Mike O'Connor is pitching tonight so that should tell you how desperate we are for a "healthy" arm.

This is on par with the DBacks letting Russ Ortiz go, except the Halos will eat $14M less.

The Nats lost to the lowly Devil Rays,11-1,last night. I'm waiting for the announcement that Weaver has been contacted. The O's are gambling with Russ Ortiz(pitching tonight) and the Nats should do the same.

Happy Belated Birthday Mojorisin71 :clapping

It would be highly humorous if Wever woul dbe picked up by the Royals. Weaver and Sweeney could relive the beat-down Sweeney put on him a few years ago.

I've rarely seen Jeff pitch seen he left the Tigers; just his nationally televised post-season appearances and that's about it. Does he still have the same stuff as previous? Is his problem lack of control or is he just getting hit? Or is he just a "head case"?

I remember ex-Tiger great Al Kaline once comparing him to Jim Bunning.

Do Jeff and Jered have similar pitching styles?

Yes, the brothers have similar pitching styles, except Jered is 6-0 with a 1.12 ERA and Jeff is 3-10 with a 6.29 ERA. It seems that he has been signed by the St. Louis Cardinals.

That may make for a strange thanksgiving dinner.replace big bro with little bro. I really like this Jered kid. I think he has a lot to offer the angels. Jelf did not look real good this year but I think he will get picked up some where. most likely for less money.

btw I notice the angels are catching up in the west. I knew they would get back on track and make a run. or thats what I was worried about anyways.

And the Cardinals are trying Weaver out because they gave up on Sidney Ponson.
